Hey 👋

I'm Mike. BitMatch came about because I got roped into doing offloading on a friend’s film and I wanted to automate it without paying to do my friend a favor. So make a quick script to do it for me…and a year later didn’t stop.

One thing I care about

BitMatch is supposed to stay simple. It’s gotten more and more things over the last year. But trying to keep the core flow simple.

What this space is for

• Questions: Anything really
• Ideas: features you want, stuff that bugs you, how you'd do it differently.
• Show and tell: how you're using it, your setup, your camera and drive combos.

Bugs go in Issues

If something's broken, especially anything around copying or verifying, please open an Issue instead. Include your macOS/iPadOS version, your camera or card type, and the transfer report if you have one. That helps me fix it a lot faster.

Want to help?

PRs are welcome. If it's something big, start a thread here first so we can talk it through before you sink time into it. I'd hate for you to build something that doesn't fit the "keep it simple" thing.

The easiest ways to help:

• Test it on your gear. Different cameras, cards, readers, drives, and filesystems are the stuff I can't cover myself. There's a guide for recording hardware test results.
• Tell me what's confusing. If something in the app made you stop and think, that's worth a post.
