Sort option to list members of a group by name

Hi Roland
We would like to have the possibility to sort list of members of a group by the user name in alphabetical order (ascending or descending).
Actually, it is sorted by, "I think", OU then UID.
Is this feature possible ?

Can you provide a screenshot of the issue? Please also provide which objectclass is used for your groups (e.g. posixGroup/groupOfNames).

Hi Roland,

you can switch the display format in the server profile (tab Module settings) to "uid". This way, you will see the user names (without the DN part) in alphabetical order.

Thank you for the answer.
Unfortunatly, the "uid" alone setting doesn't match our needs.

Here are some more explanations about our needs and hereafter some screenshots.

• we want cn + dn displayed for group's members and members's of
• we want cn + dn displayed for account's groups
• sorting should be on cn + dn for both ; moreover, in general, on the key choosen in profile's options
• we notice that some links are present for account (not always) and never for groups : always will be the best, for both accounts and groups

Could you take all of this into account, please ?

Options in profile for « Group of Unique Names »:

Custom account > General information
• Not all links are present (in example : blue = link, black = no link)
• Ordering by cn, dn

Groups > Group of unique Names
• Add link to Group’s members
• Ordering by cn, dn

• Add link to Group’s group “member of”
• Order by cn, dn

There are multiple topics here. Let's start with General information - groups with missing links: currently, the links are constructed by checking if the group is under the LDAP suffix of a "group" or "group of names" account type (server profile). Can you check if this is the case for the groups that are not linked? E.g. they might be located in some other location outside of the configured suffixes or use a custom type instead of group.

Could be the source of why we don't have all the links.
For specific profiles, customer oriented, this behavior is correct. But we have an "Admin" profile in which some links are still missing and may need an enhancement.

Here are our config of this admin profile :

• global suffix for profile is root dc=company
• LDAP suffix for account type "Accounts" is : ou=AccountCategory,ou=Accounts,dc=company ==> 7 categories of account types like this but some accounts are stored in another "ou" for security segregation : ou=AccountSecrets,dc=company (LAM Admin account, etc.) and some use differents object's classes (5 object's classes involved)
• LDAP suffix for account type "Groups" is : ou=GroupCategory,ou=Groups,dc=company ==> 3 categories of account types like this but some groups are stored in another "ou" for security segregation : ou=GroupSecrets,dc=company (ACI groups, Admin Teams groups, etc.) and all are using "groupOfUniqueNames" object's class

Here are the observations :

• In the "General Information" tab, the links for Groups are correct.
  ==> all is fine

Groups - Links
Here are the observations :

• In the "General Information" tab, the links are correct.
• In the "Group of 'unique name'" tab, the links are missing for owners and members (outside the LDAP suffix of the account type).
  ==> May the research be made on all the LDAP suffixes of all of the account types of the profile instead of the LDAP suffix of the current account type, as it seems to be done for Accounts ?
  ==> could it be add as an option of the account type ?
