2018 compatibility

This works great as-is. Using XamForms 1.3
Is there a way of updating this to modern times and Xamarin Forms 3.3.x?

As it is many of the methods are deprecated/obsoleted including the constructor. And the overrides for OnReceivedHttpAuthRequest are never hit - thus the pages never authenticate.

I'm assuming it could be adapted somehow, but I don't know what that would look like. I haven't been using Xamarin since early 2016 so I'm way out of date and out of the loop. I hope this example at least helps you get the idea so you can make it work with the latest Forms versions. Sorry I can't help you more.

Thanks for responding even though you've been out of the Xamarin game for so long. I hope that was by choice and that you moved UP to better things.

I've always heard good things but don't know first hand. Better to have a good job even at a bad company, than to have a bad job at a good company. The important thing is that you're happy with them, your role and possibilities there. I assume you wouldn't have accepted it if it was a step down; so congratulations.

this workaround is working fine

but how can I use Navigating and Navigated events with this class
because these events didn't work for the custom AuthenticatingWebView class
