Usage file PBSHAREPATH/redfish-client_usage.txt cannot be found.

What is PBSHAREPATH on line 282 in this file. I suppose it should be a environment variable but it looks like the utility is looking for a folder named PBSHAREPATH and gives me the following error when I run any command

We use project-builder.org as a build system to make python-redfish packages. PBSHAREPATH is a macro expanded with project-builder.org depending on the target distribution.

If you want to start from sources, I'd recommend that you do the following in your cloned repository:
cd redfish-client/ ln -sf etc/redfish-client.conf PBCONFFILE ln -sf . PBSHAREPATH

Then you shouldn't have problems using the exported code. The tar files published have the expanded macros.

I get this same warning after installing with pip in a venv. The weird thing is, none of the files installed contain the string PBSHAREPATH. Where is it looking, and why is it broken?

Edit: oh, it's directly in the bin/ command files. Is there something about the pip install that's supposed to substitute those variables somehow?

This variable is expanded by our package build process and replaced by /usr/share/redfish-client once installed. Meanwhile, I recommand that you do: cd redfish-client/ ln -sf PBCONFFILE etc/redfish-client.conf ln -sf PBSHAREPATH . Let me know if that fixes the stuff. @bcornec thanks. I've since moved on; I think I hacked the Python source to do essentially what you recommended. It'd be nice if the package build process could be invoked by pip install or if the prebuilt packages could be in pypi, so the enduser doesn't get a broken utility.
