Issues with Cast image streaming on L20 HD3

Hi folks,

I'm trying to stream images from an L20 HD3 to my PC (to eventually get it over to slicer) with limited success. I've tried 2 methods:

1. Using PLUS- I am able to get the probe connected and get the OpenIGTLink Server listening when the capture of the probe is frozen; as soon as I unfreeze the images on the probe, the connection fails. I am unsure where to proceed from here.

2. Using Cast API- from the command prompt, I am able to run the pycaster script, get the probe connected and I'm able to see if imaging is running or frozen, command to capture images on the app, etc. but I am unable to actually get any images or IMU data streaming.

Any help on either of these would be greatly appreciated!

are you using Windows, you may need to set a firewall rule, otherwise no images or imu data will come through

Thanks- I am using Windows. I disabled the firewall completely, and am having the same issue, with the additional issue that when I move from being frozen to imaging running, it exits the script. Here is a summary:

Probe: L20 HD3

App: 12.2.1-766

Cast SDK: 12.2.4

Python: 3.12

Results:

• connect() succeeds
• freeze callback works
• imaging running callback works
• capture image works
• imagingPort and imuPort assigned
• no image/imu callbacks fire
• process terminates with exit code -1073740791 (0xC0000409)
  when imaging stream starts

Could there be a version mismatch that I might be overlooking?

the firmware versions should be fine as all 12.2.x App and SDK's use the same, is this the python program, or C++ example that's failing, or both?

Thanks for the clarification - I'm just using the python program.

python can sometimes be flaky based on environment, but new release coming late this summer that may work better, otherwise the C++ example is an option
