• Preconditions: Corbits is launched from $HOME, so the global settings path and project-local selection path both resolve to ~/.corbits/settings.json.
• Failure mode: after OAuth success, the local selection write can overwrite the global settings file with { provider, model }; the next launch rejects that file with Invalid settings schema ... expected { providers: ... }.
• Verification note: I reproduced this deterministically against current main with a temp-dir same-path persistence simulation. I did not run a live browser/Homebrew OAuth reproduction.
