i need to use custom_data to display a custom item from a plugin called nexo, so support for either custom_Data ingeneral or direct support for nexo items would be amazing.

tried setting custom model data to the items data but it does not work.

Hi, sorry for the delay!
The Akropolis 1.10.2 release fixed an issue with the custom_model_data property and it should now support plugins that create custom items with that feature. Could you test that release with Nexo items and confirm here that it is fixed so we can close this issue?
