Hi @frederic-thibault, thanks for the suggestion. This shipped in v2.8.6.

This feature is on by default, with a Sticky Table Headers toggle in Settings -> Appearance if you'd like to turn it off.

One important constraint, since it affects the case you described. Sticky headers apply only to tables that fit the page width, i.e. tables with no horizontal scrollbar. A table wide enough to scroll sideways keeps its current behaviour and does not get a sticky header.

So for your "many columns and long" case, it depends on total width rather than column count: a wide table with many long text columns will still scroll sideways and won't get a sticky header, whereas a table with many narrow columns fits the page and will get one.
