Scripts used for processing born-digital archives at the UGA Special Collections Libraries. Workflow documentation can be found in the born-digital-processing repo.
See sample-output for examples of the outputs generated by these scripts.
None so far. Just use standard Python libraries.
No special instructions so far.
Script usage: python path/to/script path/to/collection_folder path/to/aips_directory
- collection_folder (required): path to the folder with the accession(s)
- aips_directory (required): path to the folder with the bagged, unzipped version of the AIP(s)
Compares the filename and MD5 from the AIP bag manifest(s) to the accession manifest(s) for a processed collection to find any files in the AIP(s) that were altered during processing.
Script output is a report named aip_fixity_changes.csv with the MD5, path, and filename of any AIP file that didn't match an accession, saved to the parent folder of aips_directory (usually PreservationCopy). Or if there were no mismatches, the script prints "AIP fixity is unchanged" instead.
Script usage: python /path/to/script /path/to/aips_directory collection_id [er_number]
- aips_directory (required): path to the directory that contains the folders to be made into AIPs
- collection_id (required): collection identifier
- er_number (optional): first sequential number to use for the AIP ID, if not 1
Creates the metadata.csv with one row for each aip folder in a directory. This CSV is used as input for the general_aip.py script.
Script output is the metadata.csv, saved in the aips_directory. To complete the metadata.csv, add the AIP titles and edit the version number if not 1.
