FF7 Remake — HD Project Installer (Windows 11 + RTX 4070 SUPER)

Beginner-friendly wizard that installs the Altezein HD Project (39 texture .pak files, ~54 GB) and applies an RTX 4070 SUPER Max Settings preset. No manual copying, no INI editing.

Textures: Altezein HD Project via archive.org item ff7-remake-hd-project (39 .paks, byte-size verified). Settings: bounded 5700 MB streaming pool for 12 GB cards + max quality.

Quick start

1. Copy FF7R-HD-Installer.exe to the Windows 11 PC.
2. Double-click → SmartScreen "Unknown publisher" → More info → Run anyway.
3. Type 1, press Enter. Re-running resumes interrupted downloads.

What it does (option 1)

1. Finds Steam + FF7 Remake (scans C/D/E/F/G + libraryfolders.vdf, or paste the folder manually).
2. Downloads 39 files (~54 GB) to Downloads\FF7R-HD-Downloads\ with resume + progress + size verification.
3. Copies them to End\Content\Paks\~mods\HD Project\ in the correct subfolders (Characters and Enemies / Environments / Injected objects / Skyboxes).
4. Backs up Engine.ini, writes the 4070 SUPER Max preset.
5. Verifies all 39 files by byte size.

Menu also offers: settings-only (2), uninstall + restore (3), exit (4).

Uninstall (PowerShell, one command)

On Windows 11, right-click Start → Terminal, then paste:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File Uninstall-HDProject.ps1

(run from the folder containing the script, or grab it from the Release assets). It finds the game, shows what it will delete, asks for YES, then removes ONLY ~mods\HD Project\, restores YOUR original Engine.ini from backup, and optionally clears the 54 GB download cache. Saves and game files are never touched.

RTX 4070 SUPER Max preset

In-game (do once): 2560x1440 Borderless · 120 FPS · Texture/Shadow High · Characters 10 · HDR Off. Keep TAA ON (fixes grainy-hair dithering).

Engine.ini: 16x anisotropy, 2048 shadows, SSR high, motion blur / DoF / film grain off, bounded r.Streaming.PoolSize=5700 (unlimited pins 12 GB VRAM and hitches in Sector 7 / Wall Market — the cap fixes stutter without losing quality). Pure .paks only — no DLLs, controller-safe.

Requires Go 1.21+ (no external dependencies):

Uninstall

Run the EXE → option 3. Removes ~mods\HD Project\, restores Engine.ini from Engine.ini.bak-by-hd-installer.
