This is the Official repository of Build AI-Driven Apps with Java on Udemy
Learn how to put real AI features inside real Spring Boot applications. Not a toy chatbot, but production features your team can actually ship, built with Spring AI in the ecosystem you already know.
Production-ready, not tutorial-ready.
- π¬ ChatClient Fundamentals: Prompt templates, prompt chaining, and clean AI service design
- 𧱠Structured Output: Get data from the model that your code can trust
- β‘ Streaming Responses: Real-time answers over Server-Sent Events (SSE)
- 𧩠Advisors in Depth: Build and chain custom advisors for logging, timing, and more
- π Embeddings & Semantic Search: Vectors, similarity, vector databases, and Spring AI VectorStore
- π RAG End to End: Ingestion, retrieval, citations, and RAG evaluation
- π§ Chat Memory, Tool Calling & Agents: Make your apps stateful and action-oriented
- π MCP for Java Developers: Connect your apps to external tools and data
- π LangChain4j: Understand the wider Java AI landscape
- π Capstone: A chatbot frontend connected to your own streaming AI API
- Mid-level to senior Java and Spring Boot developers who are new to AI
- No machine learning, data science, or Python background needed
- If you can build a REST API in Spring Boot, you are ready
You should know:
- Java fundamentals
- Spring Boot basics (REST controllers, dependency injection)
You will need:
- JDK (recent LTS)
- An IDE of your choice (IntelliJ IDEA recommended)
- Maven or Gradle
- An LLM provider API key, or Ollama to run models locally
- Docker (for pgvector and supporting services)
Framework versions are pinned in each project's build file. Spring AI evolves quickly, and this repository is updated as the course is updated.
- Code is organized by section, following the course order
- Controllers are tagged with lecture references in Javadoc, so you can map code to the video you are watching
- Some demos are intentionally simplified (for example, the RAG builds do not chunk documents). These simplifications are called out in the lectures
- Pace: 3 to 5 lectures a day, or 2 to 3 focused sessions a week
- Follow the order the first time; sections build on each other
- Code along, don't just watch
- Make one change of your own after every build lecture
- Take notes on tradeoffs, not syntax
- Keep costs low by using smaller models or Ollama while learning
- Expect variation: AI outputs are non-deterministic, so focus on behavior, not exact wording
- Search the Udemy Q&A before posting; your question may already be answered
- When posting, include the lecture number, what you tried, the exact error, and the versions you are using
- Help others in Q&A; explaining something is one of the fastest ways to learn it
Complete the course to receive a certificate of completion. Add it to LinkedIn, and pair it with your capstone project on GitHub. A certificate shows you finished. A project shows you can build.
Core engineering fundamentals to AI-native systems. One continuous path, zero guesswork.
Start by mastering production-grade Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and DevOps, the foundation every senior engineer needs. Then layer in AI: tools, frameworks, and multi-agent systems built specifically for the Java ecosystem.
Phase 1 Β· Core Engineering: Spring Boot β Microservices β DevOps Phase 2 Β· AI Engineering: Use AI β Build with AI β Architect Agents

Production-grade Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud deployment. The skills every backend role demands.
Step 1: Java Spring Boot Full Stack eCommerce (90+ Hours) β Live
Learn Spring Boot by building a real project.
Build a full-featured eCommerce app from scratch: REST APIs, Spring Security with JWT, the DTO pattern, AWS deployment, then a JavaScript and React frontend to tie it together.
Topics: Spring Boot Β· Spring Data JPA Β· JWT Β· Spring Security 7 Β· REST API Β· JavaScript & React Β· AWS
Step 2: Spring Boot eCommerce Microservices Masterclass (70+ Hours) β Live
Monolith to scalable microservices.
Transform a monolithic eCommerce app into a production-ready microservices system with Spring Cloud, Docker, Kafka, Kubernetes, and distributed tracing.
Topics: Microservices Β· Security Β· Spring Cloud Β· Docker Β· Kubernetes Β· RabbitMQ Β· Kafka Β· Zipkin
Step 3: Full Stack AI DevOps (AWS, Azure, GCP) (50+ Hours) β Live
Ship to production with confidence.
Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code. Deploy real Spring Boot apps across all three major cloud platforms.
Topics: Docker Β· Kubernetes Β· CI/CD Β· Terraform Β· GitHub Actions Β· AWS / Azure / GCP
From using AI tools daily to architecting multi-agent systems, all grounded in the Java ecosystem you already know.
01 Β· Use AI: AI Productivity for Developers β Live
Stop context-switching. Start shipping faster.
Master the AI tools that make you a far more productive Java developer: Claude Code, Cursor, MCP, and agentic workflows.
Topics: Claude Code Β· Cursor IDE Β· MCP Β· Agentic Workflows Β· GitHub Copilot Β· n8n Outcome: Ship faster, write better code, spend less time on boilerplate.
02 Β· Build with AI: Build AI-Driven Apps with Java π This Course
Build Java applications that think.
Go beyond using AI tools. Build applications with AI capabilities baked in, using Spring AI and production-grade Java patterns.
Topics: Spring AI Β· Prompt Engineering Β· Advisors Β· Chat Memory Β· Embeddings & Vector Search Β· RAG Β· Tool Calling Β· Agents Β· MCP Outcome: Build Java apps that use LLMs as a core component, not a bolt-on.
03 Β· Architect Agents: Multi-Agent Systems π§ Coming Soon
Design systems where agents do the work.
The frontier of AI engineering. Design, build, and orchestrate systems where multiple AI agents collaborate, all in Java.
Topics: Google ADK for Java Β· Multi-Agent Patterns Β· Agent Orchestration Β· Observability Outcome: Architect production-grade multi-agent systems, a rare skill set among Java developers today.
