This PR is a source candidate only. Stable update metadata remains on 4.8.3 until the exact installed ZIP passes the required WebUI release audit, including module-manager Action-button bootstrap and productive Sort-now background-job device acceptance.
Risk: low/medium. The transport/lifecycle changes are bounded and reversible; productive file sorting semantics are unchanged.
Rollback: revert this PR and remain on stable 4.8.3 / Core 0.6.1.
