mcsm.pywin your Minecraft server root directory. - Run the script to start the GUI:
python mcsm.pyw
- On first run, it creates
mcsm.confwith default settings.
For Linux systemd service:
sudo python mcsm.pyw -install-servicepython mcsm.pywLaunches the PySide6 GUI with:

python mcsm.pyw -noguiRuns without a GUI, reading settings from mcsm.conf. Ideal for headless servers.
In console mode you can type lines directly into the terminal to send commands to the server (e.g. list players, say hello). Ctrl+C or SIGTERM (e.g. systemctl stop) performs a graceful shutdown: the server is asked to stop, given time to exit, then escalated to SIGTERM/SIGKILL if needed.

When hosting a server exposed to the internet (via port forwarding, e4mc, Hamachi, etc.):
- Keep Online Mode enabled — Prevents anyone from connecting with a spoofed username
- Enable Whitelist — Only listed players can join
- The Security panel shows your protection status in real-time
The GUI warns you before starting the server if protections are disabled.
