Minecraft developer • Server owner • Founder of SkyXNetwork
I build Minecraft plugins and mods for a living (well, mostly for fun, but I take it seriously). Most of my time goes into Java, Spigot/Paper plugins, some Fabric mods, and the network infrastructure that keeps it all running. I also own and run SkyXNetwork, a Minecraft server I've been growing for a while now.
I got into this the usual way: started tweaking small plugins for fun, ended up going down the rabbit hole of NMS, packets, and server architecture, and never really came back up. These days I split my time between plugin development, server administration, and the occasional dive into full-stack tooling when I need a web editor for something.
What I mainly work with: Java (plugins, Fabric mods), Maven, NMS/packets, Ubuntu server administration.
I run a small homelab of 4 dedicated servers: an HP ProLiant DL380 G9, two custom ExacqVision machines, and a Synology NAS. Everything runs on Ubuntu. This is where all SkyXNetwork services live: the Minecraft servers, web panels, bots, and everything in between. I spend a lot of time on infrastructure: Docker and containers for service deployment, Nginx as reverse proxy, full monitoring and automation stack, and firewall/network configuration. If it's related to Linux server management, I'm probably into it.
My main project since 2020, and honestly the one that keeps me going, I work on it pretty much every day. A cross-platform Minecraft server (Java + Bedrock) with its own gameplay systems built from scratch: Mining Tycoon, a modded survival mode, custom items and events, ranks, jobs, quests, crates, anti-cheat, and periodic resets. Beyond the server itself, SkyXNetwork also offers hosting, Minecraft servers, Discord bots, and FiveM.
The name has a bit of a story behind it. It started as a Minecraft server I wanted to build, originally called SkygenMCPEOfficial, with a single gamemode called SkyGen, that's where the "Sky" comes from. The "X" is a nod to my own name, XPaladiumyX. And "Network" originally referred to the server having several gamemodes; these days it also fits because SkyXNetwork covers a lot more than just the server itself.
A plugin for creating custom Minecraft advancements without touching JSON by hand, there's a web-based editor for it, support for custom categories and commands, and it's mostly aimed at RPG-style servers that want more control over their progression systems.
An all-in-one server management plugin, compatible from 1.7 all the way to 1.21+. Covers zone protection, ranks and permissions, event conditions, a GUI editor, a rules engine, and general admin tooling, basically everything I got tired of piecing together from five different plugins.
A desktop communication app for gamers, somewhere between "Discord alternative" and "thing I wish existed." Focused on performance, a clean dark UI, real-time sync, and solid voice/chat features. Still early days on this one.
If you're into Java/Spigot/Paper development, Fabric modding, UI/UX work (SkyTalk could use it), or network architecture, and any of this sounds interesting, reach out. I'm generally quick to reply.
