Each entry describes a possible mistake, why it may seem plausible, a way to probe the reasoning, an explanation and a worked example. Public transfer questions are included where served in the page text.
This repository brings the Atlas into a searchable, browsable format for students, teachers, and contributors. Specific corrections and clarifications are tracked in the entry notes.

Readable Markdown entries and JSON text records, exported from the public website on 2026-09-12. Source links and HTML hashes are recorded in the manifest. This is a content archive, not the website's original codebase. Navigation and SVG illustrations are omitted; interactive grading logic, hidden answer keys, diagnostic mappings and learner data are not included.
Read a learner's explanation before assigning a label. Treat the category as a hypothesis, choose a distinguishing follow-up question, and check the response. This collection does not establish that one multiple-choice answer uniquely identifies a mental model or that the platform improves learning outcomes.
Requires Python 3, beautifulsoup4, and curl. Run python3 tools/export_atlas.py. The script requests the index plus 66 discovered entry pages, with four concurrent requests, a 20-second request timeout and no automatic retries. It stops if the index count changes. Review differences before publishing an updated export.
The educational material is from FirstPrinciples by Physoly. Background literature is listed in methodology. The author has not yet selected an explicit reuse license for this package; public availability alone is not an open-source license. Do not describe this preparation copy as an open-source release until licensing is settled.
