A basic, USENIX and ACM style compliant LaTeX paper skeleton.
The default output looks like this:

  http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dga/paper_skel_lorem.pdf

But is easily tweaked using the standard packages that are invoked
in paper.tex.

Build System:
-------------
The supplied Makefile uses latexmk, the modern standard build system
for LaTeX documents. latexmk is included by default with TeX Live,
MacTeX, and MiKTeX.

Common commands:
make - Builds paper.pdf using latexmk (runs pdflatex and biber as needed)
make watch - Continuous compilation mode (automatically recompiles on file save)
make clean - Removes intermediate build artifacts (.aux, .bcf, .log, etc.)
make distclean - Removes all intermediate files and the generated paper.pdf

Custom build configurations can be tweaked in `.latexmkrc`.

Bibliography Management:
------------------------
Bibliography management is modernized to use `biblatex` with the `biber` backend.
- Bibliography entries are stored in `ref.bib`.
- Citations in the text use `\cite{key}` or `\parencite{key}`.
- Modern features such as full UTF-8 support, automatic DOI/URL formatting,
and citation grouping/sorting are configured in `paper.tex`.

Fonts:
------
The given setup ensures that all fonts are embedded. You can double-check
by running 'pdffonts' on the final paper.pdf or an individual figure:
  pdffonts paper.pdf
