EnerPlanET

Community energy grid planning and simulation platform.

Note

We are working on making EnerPlanET open-source. Follow this organisation to get updates.

Access the EnerPlanET website for more information.

What is EnerPlanET?

EnerPlanET lets planners and engineers design, simulate, and optimise local low-voltage distribution networks, from drawing a polygon on a map to a full energy optimisation result.

It covers:

  • Synthetic grid generation using PYLOVO
  • Multi-technology energy modelling based on NREL-PySAM
  • Energy optimisation via Calliope and PyPSA
  • Interactive 2D/3D geospatial visualisation
  • Scenario management for comparing different grid designs and energy mixes
  • Integration with real-world data (e.g. weather, load profiles)
  • Result dashboard for analysing energy flows, costs, and emissions
