Building, evaluating, and responsibly applying AI systems for meaningful real-world impact

Hi!

I am an Applied AI Researcher and Project Lead working at the intersection of responsible AI, AI for social good, AI safety, sustainability, human-centered AI, and public-interest technology.

My work focuses on building and evaluating AI systems that are not only technically capable, but also reliable, transparent, socially responsible, and useful in real-world settings.

A major motivation behind my work is AI for social good: exploring how artificial intelligence can support sustainability, public-interest challenges, nonprofit and public-sector initiatives, community-centered technologies, and applications that create meaningful social impact.

I hold a PhD in Interdisciplinary Engineering from IIT Guwahati and have worked across research, product, and project leadership roles involving globally distributed teams, applied AI prototypes, benchmarking workflows, stakeholder coordination, and interdisciplinary research translation.

I currently contribute to Women in AI / WAI USA Research Labs as a Project Manager, supporting collaborative research and applied AI initiatives with an emphasis on responsible, inclusive, and socially useful technology.

Current Research Focus

  • LLM Evaluation & AI Robustness
Evaluating LLM judges, benchmark reliability, post-decision manipulability, evaluator robustness, and trustworthy evaluation workflows.

  • Agentic AI Safety & Governance
Risk-scoping tool-using AI systems, external action capability, autonomy, memory, approval mechanisms, auditability, and deployment safeguards.

  • Responsible AI & Trustworthy Deployment
Developing practical approaches for evaluating reliability, transparency, evidence preservation, accountability, and responsible AI deployment.

  • AI for Social Good & Public Interest
Applying AI to socially meaningful challenges across nonprofit, public-sector, community, sustainability, education, and development contexts.

  • AI for Sustainability & Climate
Sustainability benchmarking, environmental analytics, climate-related applications, solar-energy systems, SDG-aligned technologies, and data-driven environmental decision support.

  • Human-Centered AI
Ethical conversational AI, mental-health AI safety, human-robot interaction, interpretability, and community-centered technology.

  • Research-to-Practice Execution
Translating research questions into usable datasets, evaluation pipelines, prototypes, reports, publications, and deployable systems.
