## Sync log

### 2026-10-03 β€” `v0.53.0` RELEASED: the browser viewer and #303 shipped

Release-please PR [#299](https://github.com/sunerpy/codegraph-rust/pull/299)
merged as `2ca1fabb32cece7af4e6d337b9bf6cc0ba946ab5` and cut tag `v0.53.0` at
that exact commit, with the tree of its head `a9f3054`. That head brought `main`
in through `gh pr update-branch`, so the release PR's CI tested the shipped
tree. The implementation PRs merged from their reviewed heads with identical
trees: #298 as `143752a`, #300 as `fee9ae7`, #303 as `a35e065`.

P2 Badge Record the reviewed implementation head SHAs

The listed SHAs (143752a, fee9ae7, and a35e065) identify the resulting merge/squash commits, but the reviewed head SHAs whose trees are claimed to be identical are omitted. Consequently, this release record cannot establish the required implementation-head β†’ merge β†’ tag evidence chain or independently verify the identical-tree assertion; record each reviewed head alongside its merge commit, as the v0.52.2 entry does.

Release workflow run
[`37094204307`](https://github.com/sunerpy/codegraph-rust/actions/runs/37094204307)
passed all twelve jobs on its first attempt, over main CI run
[`37094204330`](https://github.com/sunerpy/codegraph-rust/actions/runs/37094204330).
The release was published at 2026-10-03T03:56:56Z UTC. The official
`codegraph-0.53.0-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl.tar.gz` digest is
`b46c8d3cc37161a333daa53f4258727aae13de78fd37e315214451b5ac52d50f`.

Black-box acceptance of the downloaded release, against the official
`v0.52.2`:

- `SHA256SUMS` and `gh attestation verify` passed for all six archives. The
binary reports `codegraph 0.53.0`, and its `.comment` section names rustc
1.98.0.
- **Viewer gate:** without `CODEGRAPH_UI=1`, `codegraph ui` exits 1 with
upstream's "not in this release yet" refusal.
- **Viewer:** with it, `ui --read-only --port 0` serves `/` under a CSP that
allows fonts from `'self'` only, `/api/stats` names the project, and
`/api/trails` answers `readOnly: true`. All 16 files of the bundle committed
at `v0.53.0` are served byte-for-byte, so the build accepted in #300 is the
one that shipped. Its CSS carries the Daylight tokens and its JS the
`codegraph-ui.theme` choice.
- **#303:** a Rust project's `read` calls its own `ok` beside a JavaScript
`var ok`. Excluding the JavaScript file and syncing leaves `read β†’ ok` at
confidence 0.4 under `v0.52.2`; `v0.53.0` gives 0.9, as `index --force` does.
- **Upgrade:** an index written by `v0.52.2` (extraction 19) reads `outdated`
and becomes `current` after one `sync`.
