Basic Authentication doesn't work on webapps

Description

Basic authentication works fine in Morph.
However in webapps, the page stays blank and doesn't seem to load anything after putting the credentials

that's a really strange behavior indeed. I've tried it on BQ Aquaris 4.5 on which it works for webapps with address bar, but not if the address bar is hidden.
On the Xperia X it did not work at all regardless of the address bar.

It looks a bit like a timing issue, and I think I've found a solution / workaround that at least works for my devices
