CTG Engage is an offline-first interactive engagement system built for The Veterans of Foreign Wars Combat Tested Gaming program to improve outreach at conventions, expos, community events, and other in-person activities.
It provides a touchscreen-guided experience that allows visitors to learn about CTG, explore available opportunities, follow QR-based calls to action, and provide contact information even when reliable internet access is unavailable.
CTG Engage is designed to support the volunteer at the booth, not replace them.
The kiosk isn’t replacing the volunteer. It’s creating a better first conversation.
The reference hardware implementation of CTG Engage is ExpoPi, a Raspberry Pi-based touchscreen kiosk configured to behave as a dedicated appliance.
The V1 ExpoPi configuration includes:
- Full-screen Chromium kiosk operation
- Touchscreen support
- On-screen keyboard
- Automatic login and application startup
- Offline operation
- Persistent local contact storage
- USB CSV export
- Contact record count and clear controls
- QR-code calls to action
- Controlled reboot and shutdown
- CTG-branded desktop and kiosk environment
CTG Engage is the Combat Tested Gaming-specific implementation.
The longer-term project architecture will separate the reusable engagement engine into Engage, allowing other organizations to deploy their own branding, content, workflows, and organizational packages.
CTG Engage will remain the original reference implementation.
